S3 003. Do The Next Thing

Have you ever found yourself completely overwhelmed by the magnitude of a task?  And in those moments did you ever decide that doing nothing was the easiest course of action?  And then later discovered that the task was still lurking there, in the corner, days later… waiting to be dealt with? 

Ugh!!!  Me too! 

I’ve found myself so caught up in the grand scheme of a situation that I basically rendered myself helpless to take any action at all.  But, that does not move us toward our goal, task or challenge.  It either delays the inevitable (having to eventually do SOMETHING) or removes the chance completely to make any progress at all.  

In this episode you’ll learn how just doing the next thing in the current moment is all you need to escape the pressure of performance.  Remove the entirety of the undertaking from your mind and focus only on the single next thing you can do in the moment in front of you.  Believe me, it’ll be the step you’ve always needed and it’ll always be enough.

There is so much more to us as humans than the size and shape of our bodies.  There is a spirit within us that allows us to use our body to interact with the world, but it’s not our body that is at the helm.  It’s who we are on the inside.  It’s the way we love our friends and family, the way we care for our neighbors, the way we serve the world using our unique gifts and talents.  And yet, we spend so many of our waking hours pre-occupied with the way our bodies look and probably not enough time sharing the wonderfulness within ourselves with those around us.   Need some more convincing?  Tune in!

S3 001. These 5 Words Give You Power in 2021

These 5 words will give you power in creating healthy habits for the new year.  What are those 5 words?

Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes.

We dream and hope and pray for healthier changes to become part of our lives.  We fantasize how the future will look once we make the changes and reach our goals.  And the new year is a great time to refresh and dig in!  But are we clear on what we have to do to make those habits a reality?  Are we being honest with ourselves knowing that the only way our health and wellness can change is if we do something differently?  We can make goals and dream about the outcome, but the real work is in the days between – when we have to become mindful of interrupting our autopilot habits and purposeful about adopting new behaviors so that new ways of living become a reality for us.

So get clear on the changes you’d like to see, make a plan that will define what daily actions you need to take and finally, put these 5 words in your toolbox:

Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes.

Pull them out every time you feel stuck or tempted to go back to old, easier, familiar habits.  Remind yourself that you have the power to change your life, you have the power to shift the trajectory of your health.  Nothing will change if you don’t change.   Your everyday actions are the key to finding Freedom in Healthy Living.
